Rathole Radio Gig 2011
Hey folks,
I just confirmed the venue for the Rathole Radio event 2011 and obviously 20lb Sounds will be there representing. Our very first gig was at the RR event this year and in fact the band was formed for the event, so we owe a lot to it. Come to Liverpool at Easter and join us on Sunday 24th April 2011 at the Masque Theatre in town. It's an amazing venue and I'm really pleased.
We will be joined by the wonderful I Am Not Lefthanded who will also play the gig. I'm working on ticket details, prices and other artists to play. So who would you like to see? All suggestions for things you'd like to see and do on the night are welcome.
Let's make this event kick ass!

Huzzah! When do the tickets go on sale?
Oops how did I get to double post? Is the a bug uncle Dan?
Because there is a lot of love for you and I suspect people bought tickets to support the event thinking they was helping you. jontheniceguy explained to me that it was not just about tickets but about bar takings as well.
I think you ought to say (On RR, identi.ca etc) "I appreciate your support while buying a ticket knowing full well you will not be attending is a fantastic gesture on your part we actually need you to turn up as well and buy lots of beer which is part of the deal we do with the event vendors.
If you would like to support us but cannot attend why not 'sponsor a song' for the ticket value?" You could sort out a sort of commemorative, downloadable ticket (Fab could knock them out) one that's not acceptable on the door but they can stick on their wall or website "I sponsored the song *Jimmy Carter* at RatholeRadio 2011.

As Philip and I have previously said to you, we would be prepared to pay a bit more for the tickets (say £10-£15 each), especially if there will be several acts playing. We are hoping to come - it will depend on whether Philip can get the Bank Holiday off of work!
I agree with Becky, make the tickets more in the range of a tenner. Im sure people will be happy to pay that.
Having them at a fiver may put people off by thinking that it is a little too much on the cheap side so it must be crap!
As for dick's idea Im sure if you research it you could claim prior art somewhere...just buy him an orange juice on the night if he starts to get antsy :D. I can see it on the night: "Right, this song has been bought to you by <insert random name> and they will be upset if no-one dances" or you could end up playing one song over and over due to sponsership!
Any thoughts of getting the word out that the roadshow is back?
As for the buying of extra tickets, Ill hold my hand up to that but only because the people purchased for had to pull out.
Oh, can we also ban yaMatt from the raffle :D
Although there is not much info yet, I already created an event on last.fm
Feel free to update/change. I just wanted it to appear on my events list asap.

Good news for all the people comming to the Gig. I heard Rob has a nearly complete Band together and they are already recording demos for a new album! I also convinced him to release the album on Jamendo for free download. Here is the link please download and spread!

Not sure, did it create this second one without you meaning to? There are probably quite a few bugs to be found in this site yeah. It needs a lot of work. Maybe I should have a bug tracking thread.
No news on tickets yet I'm afraid. Haven't decided on pricing or other details but since we have 6 months I'll make sure they're available in plenty of time. I'm hoping early next month.
What do people think about the price? Is £5 reasonable? Same as last time. I'm trying to pitch it right. Turnout was weird on the last one. Lots of people who'd bought tickets didn't come. I'm wondering why. All ideas welcome.
20lb for life! :)
